Apple is expected to announce a series of new features based on Artificial Intelligence at its WWDC conference, which will be held on June 10, but a chatbot, such as ChatGPT, is not among them.

Commenting on the matter, analyst Mark Gurman was emphatic in saying that, despite partnering with OpenAI, Baidu and Google, the Apple does not want to deliver a chatbot on iOS 18.

In fact, the Cupertino giant wants to use the capabilities of these companies’ tools to make Siri more proactive within the operating system, but without completely modifying the voice assistant.

The launch of a proprietary Apple chatbot is also something that has been left behind, as the company, theoretically, should focus on integrating AI capabilities into its proprietary applications.

Thus, they should “assist users in their daily activities”, automatically completing sentences in iMessage, editing photos to remove unwanted objects or summarizing texts on important topics.

Sources working with Apple also say that the company’s developers are working on AI features that can be processed on the iPhone’s hardware. In fact, this has been the main focus of AI teams, since the iPhone does not have much RAM.

For now, Apple is not commenting on the matter.
