GTA 5 was released in 2013 and, more than a decade after its release, the Rockstar Games title is still going strong due to its online mode. And, to the surprise of many, it appears that the game is on its way to the Nintendo Switch, but not through official means.
Thanks to the GTA 5 source code being leaked in December 20223, a group of modders began working on the game’s port for the Nintendo Switch. For now, only a 21-second video has been released on the internet.
As you can see from the video above, for now, the port is in the early stages of development and only the game’s main menu can be accessed. Furthermore, some error messages are displayed due to the lack of implementation of the rest of the code, including what would be its “playable part”.
Group responsible for the GTA 5 port has not been revealed
Despite the video published on X, the GTA Focal profile did not reveal which group of modders would be responsible for the GTA 5 port for Nintendo Switch. In turn, at X, the Superstar South group claims the authorship of the port and shows that they have access to a Nintendo Switch devkit to carry out the work.
