As mentioned by SamMobile, a specialist in Samsung matters, this condition should be about to be reversed. A report suggests that Bixby will soon also have generative AI similar to ChatGPT.
The person who reveals it is Won-joon Choi, an executive at Samsung. According to him, “with the emergence of generative AI and LLM (large language model) technology, I believe we have to redefine the role of Bixby so that Bixby can be equipped with Generative AI and become smarter in the future” (via SamMobile).
Remember that Bixby was introduced in 2017. Among the tasks it performed were, for example, changing cell phone settings and carrying out advanced actions in some Samsung apps.
Bixby is expected to become similar to the likes of Google Assistant
In any case, it is expected that the South Korean brand wants to make Bixby more similar to platforms like Google Assistant. Although the company has not revealed details, it is expected that the objective will be to improve Bixby, with generative AI and LLM features.
Not long ago, Samsung launched its own AI model: Samsung Gauss. As the same source of information states, it is possible that it will be able to power Bixby in the near future.
