After analyzing the Galaxy A05s, it’s time to check out what Samsung’s cheapest model has to offer. Is it worth saving or is it better to spend a little more?

The two are similar in design with a teardrop notch, wide edges and a good quality smooth plastic body. The Galaxy A05 leaves some important technologies aside to help deliver a lower price, such as the biometric reader that will be missed especially by those who use popular apps.

The screen is the same size as the other model, but with lower resolution. The panel is a simple PLS LCD with a refresh rate of just 60 Hz. The Galaxy A05 lacks in fluidity, but even achieves decent brightness, being above many basics in the category. The sound is just mono and muffled, not exciting at full power.

The A05 is equipped with MediaTek’s Helio G85 chip. Don’t expect impressive performance, as the hardware is simple and made for a cell phone aimed at basic use. It is average in the segment in terms of speed, but it cannot keep many apps open at the same time due to the 4 GB of RAM. Some heavy games even run well at medium quality.

This is another Samsung cell phone that has a battery with 5,000 mAh of energy capacity. It did very well in our moderate use test with some games, yielding 29 hours of battery life. Charging could be better if the charger that comes in the box wasn’t just 7W. It takes more than 3 hours to fully fill the battery.

The photographic set is simple with a 50 MP camera and an extra 2 MP for depth. Daytime photos are good for the category, while at night we have the limitations expected from an entry-level cell phone. The camcorder does the basics, lacks stabilization and only mono sound capture. The new front camera takes better selfies than the previous generation.

Is the Galaxy A05 worth buying? If you are looking for the cheapest option, it may even serve you well. The A05s costs a little more and delivers a better experience overall. For more details, just check out the full analysis at the link below:
