According to the company led by Sam Altman, more than 100 million people in 185 countries use ChatGPT every week, whether to learn something new, find creative inspiration or answers to their questions.
From now on, users will be able to use the chatbot without needing an account on the platform. The option will be implemented gradually, “with the aim of making AI accessible to all those who are curious about its capabilities”, says OpenAI.
According to the technology, the experience has additional security measures. For example, certain commands (or prompts) and generated content that are considered harmful will be blocked.
Through this option it will be possible to access the version of ChatGPT that is powered by the GPT 3.5 model, similar to what happens for users with an account.
However, features such as recording and reviewing message history with the chatbot, or sharing conversations will not be available. The same applies to accessing voice conversations with ChatGPT or being able to use personalized instructions.
OpenAI reminds you that, even with accountless access to the chatbot, conversations can be used to improve your models. This option can be deactivated through the settings section.
