AI Gemini can now be installed via the Play Store in Brazil and replace Google Assistant on Android

Google is finally making the Gemini app for Brazilian users on the Play Store. With this, the artificial intelligence that generates texts and images can finally be downloaded through the official Android application store, eliminating the need to install it via the web using an APK.

This makes it much easier to install and use the Brazilian Portuguese search giant’s artificial intelligence. Gemini is only available for cell phones and tablets that have at least 4 GB of RAM. The device must be running Android 12 or a later version of Google’s operating system.

Gemini arrives to replace Google Assistant. The company describes the app as a new “experimental AI assistant.” When activating it on your cell phone or tablet that meets the minimum requirements, as shown in the images above, the artificial intelligence becomes the device’s default assistant.

Therefore, when you activate your virtual assistant, Gemini will respond. Artificial intelligence still has some limitations in relation to the Google Assistant, such as the lack of support for media controls and routines, so if you prefer to maintain these functionalities, you can change the default assistant in the device’s settings.

Gemini can be activated via the “Ok, Google” voice command. Artificial intelligence will be able to provide information about what is on the device’s screen, also allowing image searches to be carried out on the web. There is also the possibility of finding quick information in Gmail or Google Drive, for example.

In addition to serving as a virtual assistant, Gemini is capable of generating texts based on the user’s needs. As an example, it is possible to ask artificial intelligence to write a draft of an email message inviting people to a wedding party. Additionally, the application is capable of generating images from text descriptions.

Despite the lack of some features, Google is already preparing updates to allow the public to do more with Gemini. We recently reported that AI will soon be integrated with music streaming platforms so that users can access their favorite services and control media through voice commands.
