Apple lost its title as China’s biggest smartphone company in the first quarter after suffering a 6.6% year-on-year drop in sales amid intense competition, according to preliminary data from market research firm IDC released this month. Thursday.

Chinese brands Honor and Huawei were tied for first place, with Honor’s market share rising to 17.1% and Huawei’s to 17%, IDC said, while Apple’s share fell to 15.6%.
