Samsung claims to be testing more AI functions in partnership with Google

-

Samsung and Google are “dating”with representatives of both companies posting photos of meetings where the main agenda is the development of artificial intelligence (IA).

Naturally, given the confidential nature of these meetings, neither Samsung nor Google have committed to disclosing exactly “what” these functions are, but they guarantee that they are “exciting things”.

The news begins with a post made by Rick Osterloh, the newly installed leader of all things AI at Google. The executive posted a photo with “the leadership of Samsung Mobile”, describing the occasion as “a partnership that has never been stronger”.

Shortly afterwards, the post was reshared by Samsung Mobile’s official profile, where “the shared vision of delivering the best products and services in the Android ecosystem” was shared, followed by the announcement that “exciting things are coming for the future of Android devices and Galaxy powered by AI.”

What could this mean? Only the two companies know, for now. But in January of this year, at the launch of the Galaxy S24 line of smartphones, TudoCelular published an article about a partnership between Samsung Mobile and Google Cloud – at the time, the companies talked about how Gemini and Imagen 2 (Google’s generative AI tools) would be used for the new text, voice and image features of the new devices.

Considering that Samsung has already recognized that the Galaxy AI environment is an ever-expanding project (which we also flag in an exclusive interview that we published at the time), and the fact that Gemini has already received several updates since the launch of the new devices, it may well be the case that the South Korean and the Mountain View company are studying integrations of these developments to expand the range of Possibilities of use on both platforms.

Or not: at this point, taking into account that none of the companies said much, they could also be developing something completely new. Either way, we’ll have to wait and see.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 is available at Mercadolivre for R$4,600. To see the other 84 offers click here.
