Huawei needs to focus on attracting more developers to expand the HarmonyOS Next app ecosystemsaid Yu Chengdong, CEO of the Chinese manufacturer.

According to the executive, this has been the most important thing in the year 2024 and the launch of the stable version of HarmonyOS Next should only happen when the software can meet users’ basic needs.

This is because the system will not be compatible with Android applications, something that may mean it is not possible to install APKs “from the outside”. Currently, this can be done on HarmonyOS as it is based on the Google system.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Yu Chengdong invited the public to Huawei’s developer conference. This year’s event should take place from June 21st.

Building the Hongmeng (Chinese name) native app ecosystem is our most important thing this year. We look forward to developers and partners joining us at HDC2024 # in June to witness the new HarmonyOS ecosystem.

Most likely, at the conference, Huawei will confirm the release date of the stable version of HarmonyOS for compatible smartphones.

Recently, the company revealed that it intends to launch a global version of HarmonyOS Next, but this should only happen when the system is 100% stable and complete within China.
