Meta is giving users more control over how others on the social network can quote messages. The ability to quote messages from other users in Threads is one of its features, but now Meta allows users to control who can do so in their own creations.
According to the new feature, revealed by Adam Mosseri, users will now be able to control which users can quote their messages, or block this ability altogether, if they so wish.
The Instagram executive states that this measure should help make Threads a more positive place for users in general. The functionality was already being tested since last month, in a limited way, but now it is starting to become accessible to everyone.
It should be noted that Threads has been integrating some new features into its platform in recent times, in order to improve users’ experience with the social network, but also to help improve their security and privacy. The ability to control citation not only helps improve the experience, but can also help reduce instances of abuse within the citation.
The new feature should start to become available to all users in the next few days.
