The world of smartphones is always receiving new proposals, with increasingly better camera quality. And Vivo, which has already surprised people in this field in the past, is preparing a launch that could be the next big smartphone when it comes to video and photography.

We’re talking about the Vivo X100 Ultra, which will be launched first in China on May 13th. A brand executive used social media to extol the qualities of the equipment, which will have a 200 MP telephoto camera.

Vivo X100 Ultra wants to rival the iPhone in video, says executive

Jia Jingdong used the social network Weibo to state that the smartphone will have the aforementioned 200 MP telephoto camera with the Samsung HP9 sensor. This is a new milestone for resolution in telephoto lenses and the terminal promises to surprise in this field. To date, the Honor Magic6 Pro, with 180 MP, has the highest resolution telephoto lens on the market.

Accompanying this periscopic lens with the “strongest chromatic aberration correction in the industry” will also be a 50 MP main sensor and a 50 MP ultra-angle sensor. Added to this is the V3+ processor, focusing solely on the image.

The executive goes so far as to state that the X100 Ultra will have video performance “comparable to Apple”. Although it can be said that the iPhone is not the reference in photography, in video it is the equipment to beat. But it seems like Vivo wants to steal that crown.

One of the biggest highlights of this smartphone will be its ability to capture photos at live concerts. This is an important point for some users, but it is also one of the most difficult for smartphones, which have to deal with low light, possible distance from the stage and movement of the artists.

For someone like me who attends a lot of concerts, it’s difficult to find a piece of mobile equipment that really excels in these areas when you want to capture the perfect moment. Considering that I have good memories of the Vivo X80 Pro, which I tested at the time of launch, I can only hope that the X100 Ultra could also mean a return for the brand to our country.

Claiming that a smartphone will rival the video quality of the iPhone is bold. And we’ll be here to check it out.
