Apple website includes interactive “eraser” teaser for tomorrow’s iPad event

-

Yes, it is tomorrow that Apple will be able to renew the iPad Pro line, possibly go even further in the update, and may even add something more to the news. The event is called “Let Loose” and everything Apple has done leads us to think that there will be a big increase in the tablet line. O teaser today gives another glimpse of what could come, a new Apple Pencil.

The Apple.com home page has been updated with a teaser to celebrate Apple's next event, which starts tomorrow at 3pm (mainland Portugal time). Apple is expected to announce a new lineup of iPad Pro and iPad Air.

The new teaser at the top of the page alternates between the various illustrations of the Apple logo, with the peculiarity of being able to erase the art with the mouse pointer on the Mac or with your finger on the iPhone's touch screen. When the logo is completely deleted, a new variant appears.

The last of this batch is yet another reference to the fact that we are also anticipating the new generations of Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard, which will coincide with the new iPads.

The new Magic Pencil is expected to add a new pinch gesture, which can help users more quickly access the eraser functionality in their drawing app. The squeezing gesture is believed to be accompanied by haptic feedback to confirm the action.

The new Magic Keyboard will have a new design based on aluminum materials, with a larger trackpad to make it even more laptop-like. It's currently unclear whether the new keyboard will only be compatible with the new iPad Pro or whether it will also work with the Air.

The new iPad Pro lineup will feature the same two screen size offerings, but the tablets will now feature new OLED screen technology for richer contrast and brighter. It is thought that the new models will be equipped with the next generation of Apple Silicon, the M4. The Neural Engine on the M4 is expected to be significantly upgraded to be better for artificial intelligence workloads.

The general design of the new iPad Pro's industrial chassis is also expected to be updated, with an overall thinner body. The front camera can also be moved to the horizontal edge for the first time.

The new iPad Air is expected to be less dramatic, with a simpler upgrade to the M2 chip. Updates for other iPad models are not expected to be part of tomorrow's proceedings, although they are expected to arrive later in 2024.
