There has been a lot of speculation about the Nintendo Switch 2 but, until now, the Japanese giant has remained tight-lipped about its new console.
However, everything could soon change. Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa has officially confirmed that the successor to the Nintendo Switch will be announced this fiscal year (which runs until March 2025).
Furthermore, Furukawa confirmed that a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for June where they will showcase the Switch games catalog for 2024.
“This is Furukawa, president of Nintendo. We will be making an announcement about the successor to the Nintendo Switch this fiscal year. It has been more than nine years since we announced the existence of the Nintendo Switch in March 2015. We will be holding a Nintendo Direct in June about the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the second half of 2024, but note that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this presentation.”, comments the Nintendo president.
Therefore, the Nintendo Switch 2 seems to be getting closer and now it’s just a matter of waiting for more information.
