Manaus (AM) – A man identified as Francisco Carlos Lima, 23, was killed on the morning of this Wednesday (21), during a confrontation between criminal factions, on José Belém Street, in the Chapada neighborhood, in the Center-South area of the capital. Another unidentified man was shot during the action.
According to information passed on to the police, about four heavily armed men arrived at the scene shooting Francisco and another man. They reacted, but after an intense exchange of fire, Francisco was hit several times and died on the spot. His partner was taken to a hospital in the city.
“There was a confrontation, the Military Police were called and quickly arrived at the scene, entered the area, and managed to put an end to the confrontation and helped to save the person who was shot, who is in prison receiving care at the hospital”, explained delegate Fábio Silva, DEHS on duty.
According to police information, the perpetrators of the crime tried to take over the boca de fumo that the victim was taking care of. Despite his direct involvement with drug trafficking, Francisco had no experience with the police.
The victim’s body was examined by the Scientific Technical Police Department (DPTC) and it was found that he was hit with 7 shots.
The investigation will be carried out by the Specialized Police Station for Homicide and Kidnapping (DEHS).
