Tina Turner had ended her career more than ten years ago and since then the singer, who died at the age of 83 on Wednesday (24), spent most of her time at her mansion in Switzerland, where she lived with her husband, Erwin Bach. It was from there that she made her last public appearances, in the form of a video – promoting the documentary about her life, Tinafrom HBO and celebrating his inclusion in the Rock and Roll of Fame, both in 2021.

“As you can tell by my big smile: I am thrilled to have been officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist. What an honor!”, Tina wrote in October 2021, posing with her statuette. “I’m grateful to so many dear people who believed in me and stood by me on my journey here – especially you, my fans. Keep dancing!”, she said at the time.

At another time, months before, in March, Tina recorded a video at her home, wearing an all-black look, gloves and clenched fists in front of the television. “I’m so excited to share this movie with you. Seeing footage from the concert made me relive some of the proudest moments of my life. I just had to sing along and dance in my living room,” she wrote, promoting Tina.

Earlier, in 2019, she made a very rare public appearance in 2019, at the opening of Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, on Broadway, in New York. Applauded by those present, she posed next to Adrienne Warrenwho played her on stage.
