O Brazilian soybean market started the week with little business. Domestic prices were mixed this Monday (30). In Chicago, prices lost strength, but the dollar rose.

The day was one of few movements. Producers remain focused on the plan. Furthermore, current price levels do not attract attention to business.

  • In Passo Fundo (RS), a 60-kilo bag fell from R$144 to R$142.
  • In the Missões region, the price dropped from R$143 to R$140 per bag.
  • At the Port of Rio Grande, the price dropped from R$153 to R$152.
  • In Cascavel, Paraná, the price decreased from R$133.50 to R$133 per bag.
  • At the port of Paranaguá (PR), the bag depreciated from R$143.50 to R$143.
  • In Rondonópolis (MT), the price rose from R$124 to R$125.
  • In Dourados (MS), the price went from R$ 125.50 to R$ 124.50.
  • In Rio Verde (GO), a bag fell from R$127 to R$125.

Soy in Chicago

You soybean futures contracts traded on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) closed Monday with lower prices.

The sharp drop in oil prices on the international market and the forecast of favorable weather for crops in Brazil and soil preparation in Argentina put pressure on prices.

In New York, the barrel of oil fell more than 3% at the end of the soybean trading session.

The bulletins indicate beneficial rains for South America in the coming days, renewing expectations of a good harvest in Brazil and Argentina.

Inspections of North American soybean exports reached 1,890,227 tons in the week ending October 26, according to a weekly report released by United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

In the previous week, soybean export inspections had reached 2,625,693 tons.

In the same period last year, the total inspected was 2,586,228 tons.

Soybean grain contracts for delivery in November closed down 14.50 cents or 1.11% at US$12.82 3/4 per bushel. The January position was quoted at US$ 13.07 1/4 per bushel, a loss of 12.25 cents, or 0.92%, compared to the previous day.

In by-products, the December bran position closed with a drop of US$ 15.90 or 3.59% at US$ 426.50 per ton. In oil, contracts expiring in December closed at 52.39 cents, up 0.12 cents or 1.22%.

Exchange

The commercial dollar ended the session up 0.68%, trading at R$5.0468 for sale and R$5.0448 for purchase. During the day, the North American currency fluctuated between a minimum of R$4.9726 and a maximum of R$5.0596.
