247 – UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Thursday (29) condemned Israeli occupation forces for opening fire on starving Palestinians awaiting humanitarian aid south of Gaza City, killing more than 100 victims and injuring another 700.

Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for António Guterres, said in a statement: “The Secretary-General condemns today’s incident in northern Gaza, in which more than a hundred people were allegedly killed or injured while seeking vital aid.”

Dujarric reiterated Guterres’ demand for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and said the UN chief “once again calls for urgent measures so that critical humanitarian aid can enter and cross Gaza for all those in need.”

“Continued hostilities and other challenges continue to impede our efforts to reach civilians in Gaza with life-saving health care and nutrition,” Dujarric added.
