Victim lives with consequences to this day in Glória de Dourados, and is no longer able to work
Action requesting compensation from the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, due to Agesul (State Agency for Enterprise Management of Mato Grosso do Sul) not having maintained the MS-475, will give former hairdresser Ronann Nobre Piona a monthly pension worth one minimum wage.
The amount will be paid retroactively to the day of the accident, May 16, 2016, until the day Ronann turns 76 years old.
Furthermore, Agesul will have to pay R$50,000 for the moral damages suffered. Ronann also requested the payment of amounts for aesthetic damage, which was denied by the Single Court of Glória de Dourados.
The sentence granting the amounts was issued seven years after the accident, after having to appeal the action in the second instance.
The accident – On May 16, 2016, the former hairdresser of Glória de Dourados, Ronann Nobre Piona, was going to meet a friend in Naviraí.
He fell into several holes on the MS-475 highway, which connects Glória de Dourados to Novo Horizonte do Sul.
Driving a Palio Weekend, Ronann lost control of the steering when trying to avoid the potholes, on a curve near the Betel Settlement. The vehicle rolled over several times, according to police accident records.
Ronann suffered several fractures and injuries, as well as severe head trauma. He was in a coma for 40 days.
Currently, he lives with sequelae in speech, walking, arm movements and has difficulties with memorization. He continues to undergo physiotherapy and speech therapy sessions to improve.
