Elderly man is killed with gunshots to the head and chest in Palmeirópolis
Farmer Eli Correia da Silva, 51 years old, was killed in the early hours of this Friday (1st) in Palmeirópolis, in the south of the state. The victim worked delivering milk in the city and his body was underneath the trailer he used for deliveries, in the middle of the street.
Security cameras captured the moment of the crime, but the suspect was not identified by police. Eli was killed with two shots, in the chest and head. The motorcycle was not found.
The crime scene is close to the house of one of Eli’s relatives who heard a gunshot, decided to check the security cameras and saw a man lying on the ground. He then called the Military Police, who verified that it was the farmer.
The security camera images were reviewed, but the view of the perpetrator of the crime would have been obstructed by a tree located in the middle of the place where the suspect would have acted.
O g1 requested information about the case from the Military Police and the Public Security Secretariat, but there was no response until the publication of this report.
Eli Correa da Silva was known as prechedes. He worked delivering milk in the city and was the cousin of the mayor of Palmeirópolis. The City Council lamented his death.
