Not even Salvador is sparing Lula. The merciless sequence of polls that show a drop in the PT member’s popularity won another survey this Tuesday, the 12th. Atlas Intel published race research by the City Hall of the capital of Bahia, commissioned by the newspaper The afternoon.

The survey shows that today the mayor Bruno Reis (União) would be re-elected in the first round, with 51.4% of the votes. Geraldo Junior (MDB) appears with 18.4% of voting intentions, in second place, followed by Kleber Rosa (PSOL, with 8.4%) and Luciana Buck (Novo, 1.8%). Blanks and nulls total 11.2% and “I don’t know”8.8%.

But what really draws attention is the drop from 57%, in December, to 50% in Lula’s approval in the capital of Bahia, one of the most Lula supporters in the country — the PT member won the 2022 election with 72% of the votes in Bahia, and only lost in two of the state’s 417 municipalities.

They do not know…

“The Atlas / A Tarde survey for Salvador shows a greater drop in approval for Lula vs. the national average. An interesting aspect, however, is that disapproval has not increased: people prefer to answer: ‘I don’t know’”commented https://twitter.com/andrei__roman/status/1767664995397943728CEO of Atlas.

Lula’s disapproval rating remained at 37% in Salvador, but the “I don’t know” went from 6% to 13%. 809 voters were interviewed from March 4th to 7th and the margin of error is plus or minus three percentage points.

“In the case of the governor of Bahia, the situation is clearer, with a 7pp increase in disapproval in the last 3 months”, added Roman, referring to Jerônimo Teixeira (PT). His disapproval went from 46% to 53%.

Search spanking

This is just another in the series of surveys that exposed Lula’s drop in popularity. Search Ipec showed that the excitement with the PT member fell in the Northeastits major electoral stronghold.

The Genial/Quaest survey exposed the drop in popularity among evangelicals after the allusion to the Holocaust to attack Israel.

Atlas itself had already indicated, in a specific survey on Lula, that the assessment of his government got worse in all aspects in 2024.

Furthermore, Datafolha showed, also this Tuesday, that Lula’s disapproval rose nine points of the capital of São Paulo.
