Actor Grant Page, one of the world’s greatest stuntmen – having worked on the ‘Mad Max’ franchise and the spin-off ‘Furiosa’ – died in a car accident at the age of 85.

Considered a movie legend, Page said he was alone near his home in Kendall, Australia, on Thursday when he crashed into a tree.

His son Leroy Page told Daily Mail Australia emergency services and police were called and arrived at the scene within minutes, but it was not possible to save his life.

Leroy informed the newspaper that his father, even at his advanced age, was planning new projects. “He died very excited and very motivated. He was very happy,” he lamented.

Grant Page was a pioneer of the golden age of Australian cinema in the 1970s. His long list of credits includes action films – both as a stuntman and actor – such as ‘Mad Max’ (1979), ‘Gods of Egypt’ (2016) , ‘The Fixed Price 2’ (2016) and ‘Max Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome’ (1985). More recently, he strengthened his partnership with filmmaker George Miller in the films ‘Once Upon a Genius’ (2022) and the prequel to ‘Mad Max’, ‘Furiosa’, which premieres later this year.
