Austin FC drew 2-2 with Philadelphia Union on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium, thanks to second half goals from Diego Rubio and Jon Gallagher.
Philadelphia took the lead early with a penalty kick in the 14th minutes. Brad Stuver kept the deficit at one (1) with a crucial save in the 22nd minute, 1 of 2 saves he made in the first half.
After halftime, the Verde & Black came out with renewed energy and equalized with a header from Diego Rubio in the 56th minutes. Just two (2) minutes later, Jon Gallagher scored with his right foot from the left side of the box to put Austin ahead. Gallagher’s six (6) goals since the start of the 2023 season are the most of any MLS defender.
The Union then got a second goal of their own through Mikael Uhre in the 65thth minutes. Austin FC Designated Player Sebastián Driussi came on for his season debut with 19 minutes remaining, and although the Argentine playmaker helped push ATXFC forward, the match ultimately ended in a draw.

Austin FC will play its second away match and fifth match overall of the 2024 Major League Soccer regular season against Orlando City SC on Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 pm ET/6:30 pm CT. The match will stream live in English and Spanish on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
