The widow of assistant sergeant Carlos Mota, who died about a year ago while deactivating anti-tank mines in the Santa Margarida military camp, was interviewed this week on the program «Dois à 10», on TVI.

Marisa Mota answered questions from presenters Cristina Ferreira and Cláudio Ramos, reporting how that accident happened and how the family’s life changed during this year, in addition to the countless expressions of solidarity with the family.

The widow remembers the love with which she shared her life for 23 years in Entroncamento.

Marisa mentions that her husband was very present in her daughters’ lives and that he was honored at the youngest daughter’s ballet show and at the Equestrian Center, they named the arena after her father.

The interview took place on the day Carlos Mota would have turned 49 years old. He was born in Vila Velha de Ródão, lived in Entroncamento, was married and father of two girls.

The soldier was part of the Mechanized Brigade and had already participated in several missions abroad: two in Lebanon, as Head of Auto Transport Section and one in Bosnia Herzegovina, as Section Commander of the Engineering Module.

During the program, a statement was made by the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, in solidarity with his friend Marisa.
