What do sellers say about searching for fish?

Right in front of the São Joaquim Fair, Valnei Araújo sells Cabeçudo, Arraia, and the most sought-after product among his customers: Guaricema. He says he has been at that point at the Fair for eight years, and from experience, although the movement of buying fish is “slow” for now, in the week before the holiday, the movement increases.

Valnei explains that there is no way to predict how much the specific increase in fish prices will be, because it depends on the demand and price of fish purchased from fishermen. And this response was unanimous among the fish traders who spoke to iBahia.

Matheus Oliveira, seller at the Empório Gourmet Pesqueiro stand at the Rio Vermelho Market, has already commented that fish prices are expected to increase by approximately 10 to 15% in the week before Holy Week, and even more during the holiday.
