A 21-year-old man died and two people were injured in an accident involving two motorcycles on the TO-476 highway in Dianópolis. The case happened on Sunday (17) near the city’s airport. According to witnesses, the place was used by motorcyclists to compete in dangerous maneuvers.
The accident happened around 5:30 am. The Military Police confirmed the witness’ information that the motorcyclists were involved in a dispute at the time of the accident. The Fire Department provided first aid to the victims.
The young man was identified as Illo Raniere Vilela Dourado. He was found lying on the road with a motorcycle on his body and wearing a helmet. The other two victims, aged 18 and 24, were taken to the Dianópolis Regional Hospital with minor injuries and open fractures, respectively.
According to the Military Police, some of those involved in the accident were removed from the scene by third parties, who were also carrying out maneuvers on the highway, disobeying the order of the Fire Department. They also removed the motorcycles without authorization.
The military team searched to locate the motorcycles and found one of those involved in hiding one of the vehicles, who informed them of the location where the motorcycle that was driven by Illo Raniere was hidden. The other motorcycle, which was driven by the 18-year-old victim, was found by people near the accident site, covered by grass.
The 18-year-old and the vehicles were presented to the Dianópolis Civil Police Station for appropriate procedures.
