The National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon), linked to the Ministry of Justice, notified Gol airline this Wednesday (24) to explain the death of a dog that was transported by the company.

In the explanations, the company must detail the methodology and policy for transporting animals.

Senacon also determines that Gol presents the repair procedures that are applied by the company in cases like this.

The deadline for Gol to send this information is two days.

The dog that died was a golden retriever and was five years old.

According to the golden retriever’s owner, the veterinarian had given a certificate indicating that the animal would survive a two and a half hour journey.

But Gol got its destination wrong. The pet should have been taken from Guarulhos International Airport, in São Paulo, to Sinop (MT), but was placed on a plane that boarded for Fortaleza (CE). The animal ended up being sent back to Guarulhos and, when the owner arrived to find it, the dog was dead.
