São Paulo – Last Sunday (17/3), the defense of journalist Marcelo Roberto Ferreira Carrião filed a request for emergency medical care after the defendant was bitten by a Brown Spider inside the Provisional Detention Center (CDP) of São Vicente, in south coast of São Paulo.

In investigation of the newspaper The Tribune, the request says that the former SBT presenter’s leg suffers from a serious infection, with signs of necrosis and fear of the need for amputation. The request was made by defense lawyer Marcelo José Cruz.

According to the lawyer, this Monday (18/3), the arrested journalist, accused of involvement in drug trafficking, was taken to the Emergency Room of São Vicente, where he was treated with serum and Rocefim, a medicine designed to control infections. and inflammations. After the procedure, the defendant returned to the São Vicente CDP.

Also according to the note, the defense hopes that the journalist will be transferred to a prison that has “effectively better outpatient facilities”.

Carrião was reportedly bitten by a Brown Spider on his right leg 15 days ago and, as a result, today he has a serious infection in the region. In addition, he also claims to suffer pain in the knee of the same leg, according to the newspaper’s findings. The Tribune. The report also says that Marcelo Cruz believes that the local professionals do a good job but does not see the medical structure necessary for the seriousness of the situation.

The Penitentiary Administration Secretariat (SAP) was contacted regarding the conditions of the CDP, but did not respond to the contact at the time of this publication. The space remains open.

Journalist’s arrest

Former television presenter Marcelo Carrião was arrested for drug trafficking in a Civil Police operation in Santos, on the south coast of São Paulo, on February 28. According to investigations by the Specialized Criminal Investigations Division (Deic), the journalist is identified as a supplier of narcotics.

Investigations indicate that Carrião, nicknamed “Vovozinho”, and the other detainees supplied drugs to two women who ran a “disk drug” service in the city. The pair were arrested in early February.
