The court ordered the preventive detention of Helio Leonardo Neto, aged 47, for keeping 80 firearms, some of them not legal, and more than 16 thousand rounds of ammunition in the house where he lived, in the Praia dos Outubro region, in Americana. He was also temporarily arrested this Sunday (17), in the same municipality, after confessing that he killed Mônica Matias de Paula, 33, resident of Avenida Comendador Thomaz Fortunato, in the Chácara Letônia neighborhood.

To LIBERAL, lawyer Amilton Rodrigues, who represents Helio, confirmed that he is registered as a CAC (Collector, Shooter and Hunter). “He’s a gun collector,” he commented. “So much so that, in the encounter where the death occurred, he was disarmed,” said the defender.
