Alentejo – Museu da Luz opens the “Paradeisos” exhibition today

The Museu da Luz, located in Aldeia da Luz, in Mourão, opens today, March 19th, at 4pm, the exhibition “Paradeisos”, by Henrique Vieira Ribeiro. The author is based on Hegel’s theory, which, according to Tomás Maia, says that the word was the first Greek translation for Eden and that this would include a closed enclosure containing trees of all species and animals. It is based on this premise that the project originates.

Composed of the presence of tree corpses whose growth is manipulated by man, commonly known as bonsai, “it is a practice that highlights the persistence of the Enlightenment as an ideology that is not always aware of, fitting this project into a line of questioning about the human condition, namely in the definition of (S)being Human, as well as the way in which it relates to what surrounds it”. Henrique Vieira Ribeiro, has a master’s degree in Multimedia Art, Audiovisuals, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, and a degree in Multimedia Art, Photography, from the same institution, a vast curriculum that also includes teaching. The “Paradeisos” Exhibition can be visited until June 16, 2024. The Luz Museum is part of the Portuguese Museum Network and is open from Tuesday to Sunday.
