Pilot of plane that crashed in Acre allegedly assumed that it was carrying more passengers than allowed – ac24horas.com

A video released on a social network by journalist Altino Machado on Monday night (18), shows a man filming the interior of the single-engine Cessna plane with prefix PT-JUN, which crashed yesterday morning, killing one person and leaving others 6 wounds. In the recording, the man comments that the pilot had assumed to take more passengers than allowed, justifying that indigenous people are not the same as “normal people”.

In the images, the man, who is not identified, shows the plane’s dashboard. Then, when talking about the aircraft’s load capacity, he says: “The chair only has these two at the front, at the back it’s like this [mostra que não há divisória entre os dois assentos frontais e o bagageiro]. The pilot here said that when he is indigenous he carries 6, when he is a normal human being, who is fatter, he only carries 4”.

It is not possible to know when the video was recorded, nor which pilot the man in the video refers to.

The PT-JUN did not have a valid Airworthiness Certificate, as the Airworthiness Verification Certificate had expired, according to the National Civil Aviation Agency. According to the Government of Acre, seven people occupied the plane, but the model is certified to be operated with one pilot and three passengers.

According to the government, the victims of the accident are: Roney Mendes (pilot), 59 years old (in serious condition); Suane Camelo, 30 years old (in serious condition, intubated); Mateus Jeferson Fonte, 26 years old (stable); Amélia Cristina Rocha, 28 years old (serious); Bruno Fernando dos Santos, 36 years old (stable); Delisiane Salomão Calixto, 15 years old (stable) and Sidney Estuardo Hoyle Vega (death).
