An accident involving a truck carrying paper and a van transporting patients left three people injured this Tuesday morning (19) on Rodovia Lúcio Meira (BR-393), in Sapucaia (RJ).
Initially, with information from K-Infra, the concessionaire that manages the highway, g1 published that the accident left four injured. The information was corrected at 5:51 pm.
According to the dealership, the vehicles collided head-on at km 121. Shortly afterwards, the truck overturned.
The van left Santo Antônio de Pádua (RJ) and was heading to Paraíba do Sul (RJ), where a passenger would take an exam.
According to the Federal Highway Police, the victims are:
- Truck driver, 44 years old, with serious injuries
- 52-year-old van driver with serious injuries
- 47-year-old van passenger with minor injuries
All the injured were taken to Hospital São Salvador, in Além Paraíba (MG).
The city of Santo Antônio de Pádua reported that the passenger received treatment and has already been discharged, but that the van driver remained hospitalized.
g1 tried to speak to the medical unit by phone to update the health status of the third victim, but was unable to contact him.
At around 6:15 pm, traffic on the stretch was flowing using the “stop and go” system.
