Daniel Alves was granted the right to await the outcome of his sentence in freedom. The Barcelona Court announced, this Wednesday (20), that it accepted the request made by the defense of the former player convicted of rape on bail of 1 million euros (approximately R$5.4 million). Given this, the professor and anthropologist Deborah Diniz went to his social networks to comment on the decision and claimed that justice is putting a price on the rape of a woman.

“The spectacle of punishment for freedom to be bought for one million euros. Justice was slow and, now, it is ridiculous: it puts a price on the rape of a woman”, he shot through his social networks. “A million. Famous men escape justice either because the women are not credible or because they buy freedom.”

“The conversation here is not about defending punitivism: it is about the message of justice to this woman and to all women in the world”, he then added. And he concluded: “PS: who lent the bail money? It’s not sexual assault, it’s rape.”

Court orders collection of passports if defense pays bail

In the sentence issued by the judges of the Barcelona Provincial Hearing, it was determined that all of the former athlete’s passports will be collected by the Court, if the defense decides to pay the requested bail. In addition, he will have to maintain a distance of at least 1 km from the victim’s residence, his place of work or any place frequented by him; he will not be able to communicate with the complainant by any means; you will not be able to leave Spain and; you will have to appear at the Barcelona Court weekly or as often as requested

“The court decides, by majority and with an individual vote: ‘Agree on the provisional arrest of Daniel Alves, which can be avoided by paying a bond of 1,000,000 euros and, if the payment is verified, his provisional release is agreed , or withdrawal of both passports, Spanish and Brazilian, the prohibition of leaving the national territory, and the obligation to appear before this Provincial Court weekly, as well as as many times as summoned by the Judicial Authority”, says the sentence.
