A Federation of Commercial and Business Associations of the State of Paraná (Faciap) issued a note this Thursday (21) in which he criticizes the corruption scandal involving the president of the Legislative Assembly of Paraná (Alep), deputy Ademar Traiano (PSD). The entity asks that this episode, classified as “regrettable”, be resolved as quickly as possible.

The text, signed by the president of Faciap, businessman Fernando Moraes, does not mention Traiano’s name, but reinforces that “the discovery of corrupt practices within the institution hurt not only the credibility of parliamentarians, but the trust that the people place in their representatives”.
In a Non-Criminal Prosecution Agreement (ANPP) – signed with the Public Ministry of Paraná and approved by the Judiciary – the president of Alep confessed to negotiating and receiving a bribe of R$ 100 thousand from businessman Vicente Malucelli to renew the service contract from TV Assembleia, in 2015. This week, a series of reports from RPC TV and G1 revealed dialogues recorded by Vicente Malucelli and videos of the businessman’s testimony and testimonies from other witnesses. The case remains confidential in court.
Faciap’s note states that “these practices represent a blow against the image of this respectable institution and against parliamentarians who work with ethics and transparency in their actions”.
By reinforcing that misconduct that tarnishes Alep’s reputation cannot be tolerated, Faciap calls for urgent action to restore “lost integrity, image and trust”.
“It is necessary to urgently resolve this regrettable episode, take all necessary measures so that Casa do Povo can once again focus on the development of the State and serving all Paraná residents”, concludes the note.
OAB asked Traiano to resign from his position as state deputy
The Paraná Section of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB-PR), also in a note, was explicit in asking Traiano not only to resign from the leadership of the Board of Directors of Alep, but to give up his position as state deputy “in light of the disclosure of more elements that demonstrate the obtaining of undue advantage by the president of the Legislative Assembly of Paraná”.
In its public position, the OAB states that it also sent a letter to Traiano, with the same request for resignation. “Such a measure aims to safeguard the dignity and decorum of the Legislative Power of Paraná, which is fundamental for maintaining democratic order and public trust in institutions”, says the note.
