Shocking video reveals details of accident that killed elderly man on Christmas

A video recorded by surveillance cameras shows the moment a serious accident occurred on Block 5 of Park Way. The case occurred in the early hours of December 25 last year, Christmas Monday.

The accident occurred between a BMW and a Kia Soul. The driver of the Kia was Alexandre Matos. He was returning to the house where he lived with his daughter when his car was hit. Alexandre died instantly, aged 79.

In the video, it is possible to see that the Kia driver was waiting to make a U-turn. He starts to move forward a little, but stops.

Then BMW nails it. The images are strong.

According to the Fire Department (CBMDF) reported at the time of the accident, after hitting the Kia Soul, the BMW left the road and hit a tree. The second car overturned and then collided with a public lighting pole.

In the images it is still possible to see two vehicles, which were participating in the race, according to witnesses, and, after the accident, returned in the wrong direction.

The victim

The driver of the Kia was Alexandre Matos, father of Albert Halex. Albert became a lawyer on the case and, according to him, the suspicion is that BMW was participating in a race.

“My father was a retired Caesb employee. He retired in 2001, but later served as advisor to the president. He was the one who coordinated Caesb’s commercial area and appointed the managers for 20, 30 years. He was a person who had great relationships. At the wake, I heard some testimonies from people he employed. Gentlemen already with white hair saying that everything they had was due to my father. So, a lot of people showed a lot of gratitude to him,” says Albert.
