The public prosecutor of Cesário Lange (SP), Ana Cláudia Dutra Cristofani, reported manslaughter four people involved in the fire at Mavsa Resort, which caused one death and left 19 injuredin February 2022.
According to the Public Ministry, the accused are the general manager of the enterprise, the leisure manager, the occupational safety technician responsible for accident prevention and the leader of the civil firefighters who worked at the party.
According to the complaint, filed on February 29, a civil firefighter working at the event fired pyrotechnic devices, as commonly happened at the site. However, one of the firecrackers hit the ceiling of the hall, causing a small fire.
As the space had acoustic insulation made of Styrofoam, a highly flammable material, the fire soon spread, causing those present to be instructed to leave the area.
The victim, however, returned to the bar with the aim of retrieving his equipment, but died after a bang was heard and the place was filled with smoke. The musician suffered second-degree burns on 45% of his body.
Mavsa’s press office informed the g1 that the resort will not take a stand. O g1 He also tried to contact the defense of the accused, but was unable to get a response until the last update of this report.
The fire was recorded in a space reserved for shows and events at Mavsa Resort, around 11pm on February 21, 2022. Twenty people were taken to health units in Cesário Lange and Tatuí (SP) with burns and for having inhaled large amount of smoke.

At the time, Cesário Lange City Hall reported that Mavsa Resort was legal and had all operating permits. The company said it was cooperating with the investigations and providing support to victims and families.
