Cameras record accident that killed elderly woman after rollover

Elderly Terezinha Rezende Martins, aged 64, died after being thrown during a rollover on PR-281, in Chopinzinho, in the southwest of Paraná. Three people were injured, including a seven-year-old girl, according to the Fire Department.

The accident happened on Sunday afternoon (24), on a stretch of single track. A company’s security cameras recorded the accident.

According to the corporation, the driver lost control of the steering wheel while traveling on the highway. The driver of another vehicle heading in the opposite direction swerved and narrowly missed hitting the car head-on.

The elderly woman died before the medical team arrived. Three other passengers were taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

The seven-year-old child was trapped under the vehicle by the exhaust and suffered serious burns to his stomach and arm, according to the military.

The driver of the car that overturned left the scene after talking to the military, disoriented and was not located by the police.
