Communicator goes to an accident to broadcast live and discovers that the victim was his own daughter

The driver of the car involved in the accident that killed Kamilly Vitória Cândido, aged 21, told the Civil Police that he was driving at 60 km/h at the time of the collision with the victim’s motorcycle. Her father, communicator Donato Cândido, discovered that his daughter had died during a live broadcast from the scene.

The accident occurred on Friday night (22), on a single-lane stretch of PRC-279, in Faxinal, northern Paraná. According to delegate Ricardo Mendes, the maximum limit on the highway is 80 km/h.

This Monday, the driver gave a statement at the police station accompanied by his wife, who was also in the vehicle. According to the State Highway Police (PRE), the collision was frontal.

According to the delegate, the man said he lives with his wife in Arapongas. The two went to Faxinal to visit his mother-in-law, who had undergone surgery at the city hospital. When they were returning home, the car ended up hitting Kamilly’s motorcycle.

“He stated that he was walking slowly, below the maximum allowed on the road. He said that everything happened very quickly. When he realized it, he only had time to tell his wife that a motorcycle was coming in the opposite direction.”

In his statement, the driver said he believed that Kamilly had turned on the motorcycle’s headlights before the crash, and therefore would not have been able to avoid it.

“The couple remained at the scene and called for medical help. They stayed the entire time the incident occurred. He (the driver) has his license up to date and reported that his car is in good condition”, added the delegate.

In addition to the couple, the delegate heard the police officers who responded to the accident. He is awaiting reports from the Criminalistics Institute on the scene of the accident and the car involved.

Victim had just gotten off work

Kamilly’s father, communicator Donato Cândido, explained that his daughter had just left the company Coamo, where she had gotten a temporary job as a harvest worker.
