In the 18 times that Palmeiras was successful, the team recorded 14 wins, three draws and only one defeat, against River Plate, in the semi-final of the 2020 Copa Libertadores, when the club qualified in suffocation and became champion against Santos, at Maracanã, in a single final.
Under the command of Abel Ferreira, Verdão never lost a knockout game against Paulista at Allianz Parque. All of the team’s eliminations were in the Copa do Brasil or Libertadores. The Portuguese is the one who led the team the most at the stadium (105 matches) and who won the most at the venue (70).
This is an asset for Palmeiras to reach the fifth consecutive final in Paulistão. The team competed in the final in the last four editions of the tournament, obtaining three titles (2020, 2022 and 2023) and one runner-up (2021).
Problems with synthetic lawn
Palmeiras was unable to play at Allianz Parque due to the poor condition of the synthetic pitch. The stage was closed by the FPF.
The solution found was to exchange thermoplastic for cork material. The renovation of the pitch ended at the beginning of this week, and the Palmeiras under-20 team carried out two tests before the club approved their return home. The FPF also gave its approval and released the venue before it was confirmed as the venue for the semi-final against Novorizontino.
