According to the local police, a group drove by, in a gray car, near the country club where the star usually spends the night in Miraflores and threw a black sock with a sign inside that read “Di Maria’s Family”. There was also a note containing death threats directed at the player.

“Tell your son not to return to Rosario, because otherwise we will kill a family member. Not even Pullaro [Maximiliano Pullaro, governador de Santa Fe] will save you. We shoot pellets and people end up dead”, could be read in a message that appeared following the news that the Benfica player could sign for Rosario.
