Death was declared at the scene by the doctor from the VMER (Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle) team, said the Mirandela fire commander, Luís Carlos Soares.

From what we were able to ascertain, the victim, a farmer who lived in that locality, was driving her vehicle towards Cabanelas/Mirandela and was preparing to enter an access road to her house, when, for reasons still to be determined, the collision occurred. with another vehicle that was coming in the same direction, causing a violent collision with the road’s protective railings. At the time, it was raining heavily in the area of ​​the accident.

The alert for the accident happened at 4:50 pm, “When the rescue teams arrived at the scene of the accident, the victim was trapped and was already in cardiorespiratory arrest”, says the Mirandela fire commander.

The body was taken to the office of the Institute of Legal Medicine, at Mirandela hospital where the autopsy will be carried out. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident, a 30-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

Nine firefighters were involved in the relief operations with the support of three vehicles, the VMER team and the INEM SIV (Immediate Life Support) ambulance.

Taking care of the incident was a team from the GNR traffic detachment who proceeded to cut off traffic flow, in both directions, for relief operations and removal of the accident vehicles, as well as cleaning the road. Traffic was restored half an hour after the accident.

Meanwhile, another GNR team to investigate crimes in road accidents was called in to investigate the causes behind this accident that led to one death.
