Variation in fish prices during Holy Week exceeds 400% in Joinville

A price survey released by Procon de Joinville showed the highest and lowest prices for fish in the city during Holy Week. Among the 12 establishments, fishmongers and supermarkets, a price variation of up to 402% was found.

The survey was carried out on Monday (25). The survey is of fresh and frozen fish. Fish such as anchovies, tuna, cod, dogfish, shrimp, croaker, grouper, sole, hake, hake, sea bass, salmon, sardines and tilapia were researched.

Tuna fillet was the one with the biggest price variation (402%) among the locations surveyed. A kilo of fillet was found for R$19.90 and in another establishment it is sold for R$99.90. Cod loin had a price difference of 266% between the cheapest place and the most expensive. The kilo was found for R$87.37 and for R$319.90.

A kilo of sole fillet was found for R$35 and R$123.80, which represents a price variation of 254%. A kilo of large white shrimp showed a price difference of 207%, and is sold for R$69.90 and R$214.75.

All prices correspond to the value of the product per kilo. In some establishments, products are packaged with a pre-defined weight.
