In a revelation that marks one of the most significant transfers in European football this season, Pinto da Costapresident of FC Portoannounced that the Olympiacos will exercise the purchase option through the central David Carmo. The Greek club undertakes to pay 17.5 million euros by the player, who is currently on loan from FC Porto until the end of the current season.

This decision by Olympiacos comes after a positive evaluation of Carmo’s performance, reinforcing the club’s defense with a considerable investment. Pinto da Costa, when sharing this news, highlighted the relevance of the financial agreement for FC Porto’s finances.
“We spent 20 million, but we are not going to lose the millions we invested in David Carmo, because he is already very amortized“, explained the president, indicating an optimistic outlook regarding the return on the investment made by the club.
In addition to Carmo’s transfer, Pinto da Costa also mentioned the deal involving Francisco Conceição, stressing that the player’s departure did not represent a total loss for the club.
“Francisco Conceição didn’t leave for free, they gave us 5 million euros and came here without paying anything“, he added, referring to the transfer as part of a broader financial strategy that benefits FC Porto.
