Tesla said in March that it would raise Model Y prices in the United States on April 1 in the United States. The price update arrived in China, with electric vehicles manufactured in Shanghai bucking the trend of the “discount” war that has been crushing the margins of most of their rivals in China, the largest electric vehicle market.

The basic Model Y now costs 263,900 yuan ($36,519), or 1.9% more, according to the Texas-based manufacturer’s local portal.
