A traffic accident left a cyclist with serious injuries in the early hours of this Monday (1st), in the center of Cocal do Sul, a municipality located in the south of Santa Catarina. There was a head-on collision between a Fiat Uno and a bicycle.

According to the Military Highway Police (PMRv), the accident was recorded on Rua Ambrósio Dalo (SC-443) at around 5:15 am. The 43-year-old cyclist was taken to Hospital São José, in Criciúma.
The victim was treated unconscious by the Military Fire Department. According to the police, the bicycle driver suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI), suspected internal bleeding, as well as injuries to his lips and hands as a result of the accident. The driver of the car was not injured.
