“The arrest of those responsible for the murder of Marielle Franco and Anderson Gomes exposed something that residents of Rio de Janeiro have known for a long time: there is a criminal ecosystem that operates within the State apparatus to guarantee the dominance of armed groups in the city. These are groups who profit from the exploitation of poverty built on the historical failure of public power to guarantee rights. We must break with this cycle. We must face this power framework and refound Rio de Janeiro on democratic and socially fair foundations”, says an excerpt campaign presentation on the website.

The petition is signed online, using the link: https://commilicianaotemjogo.com.br/.
