A serious sinister (accident) at km 594 of BR-376, on the morning of this Monday (1st/4), in Contorno Sul, on the Caiuá viaduct, in Curitiba (PR), involving two trucks, both from LogSul Logisticsand two passenger cars left a man dead, after he was crushed by one of the trucks, which did not stop, even with traffic stopped on the road, due to the excess of vehicles in the area.
Image from a camera on the highway shows the moment when the trailer – even with traffic at a standstill – does not stop, hits the back of a Peugeot, which protrudes onto the shoulder, and then presses the Toyota Yaris against a trailer, also from LogSul, stop ahead. The Yaris was completely destroyed.
As a result of the impact, the driver died instantly. He was identified as Chuniti Kawamura, 74, a well-known photographer in the region.
According to firefighters, the collision was on the road towards São José dos Pinhais (PR). There is evidence that the truck driver, working for the LogSul Logistics, was traveling at a speed incompatible with the route, was using a cell phone, had dozed off or was under the influence of drugs. The Civil Police will investigate to find out the reason.
O Roads called the LogSul Logistics but it was not answered. The report sent an email to the company and is awaiting a response regarding the incident.

Photographer Chuniti Kawamura, known professionally in the region, was alone in the Toyota Yaris. According to preliminary information, at the time of the collision there was a queue towards São José dos Pinhais (PR) and traffic was at a standstill.
The Civil Police will further investigate this serious accident that killed a citizen.
