A Civil Police indicted this Monday, 1st, Fernando Sastre de Andrade Filho25 years old, for cause an accident that resulted in the death of an app driver in the east zone of São Paulo. According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), Fernando will be responsible for intentional homicide, bodily injury and escape after the collision. He was also requested to be temporarily detained after giving his statement.

The suspect, a real estate businessman, is identified as responsible for colliding a Porsche 911 Carrera GTS carvalued at R$1 million, in the Renault Sandero model, driven by Orlando da Silva Viana, 52 years oldin the early hours of Sunday, the 31st. Viana, who was an app driver, succumbed to his injuries and died.

Andrade Filho presented himself to the 30th Police District of Tatuapé, in the capital of São Paulo, on Monday afternoon to give a statement, the department informed the Earth.

“The police authority represented by the decree of his temporary arrest and awaits the Judiciary’s assessment. The case remains under investigation by the 30th DP. The Military Police opened a preliminary investigation to investigate the conduct of the police officers during the incident”, said the SSP. The suspect’s defense has not yet been located.

The accident

The rear-end collision occurred around 2am on Sunday, on Avenida Salim Farah Maluf, in the capital of São Paulo. Witnesses informed the Civil Police that the 25-year-old businessman, who was driving the Porsche, was traveling at high speed along the road, which has a limit of 50 km/h, and, when overtaking, lost control of the vehicle.

He would have crashed into the back of a Sandero, driven by the app driver. The driver was taken to Tatuapé Hospital with cardiopulmonary arrest. He died from “multiple trauma”.

The 22-year-old passenger of the Porsche was also injured and was taken to São Luiz Hospital.

Military police officers who responded to the case informed the Civil Police that Andrade Filho’s mother arrived at the scene and said she would take her son to Hospital São Luiz, located in Ibirapuera, to treat a wound in the mouth.

When the agents went to the hospital to do a breathalyzer test and get their version of the accident, they didn’t find either of them.

In a note to Earth, the Public Security Secretariat informed that the priority in cases of traffic accidents is to guarantee the rescue of victims and preserve the accident site — which was done by the PMs. Police officers also searched the suspect’s residence, but he had not been found.
