Santa Catarina industry director dies in motorcycle accident in Peru: “Example of work”

Businessman Álvaro Schwegler died this Monday (1st) after a motorcycle accident in Peru. Álvaro was accompanied by his wife, Jane Schwegler, who, according to information from family members, was taken to a hospital and has already been discharged. Known for his work at Esquadrias Schwegler, the businessman was one of the directors of the industry based in Porto União, in the North of Santa Catarina.

There is still no information about the accident or the wake. Álvaro Schwegler was a member of the board of the Instituto Euvaldo Lodi de Santa Catarina (IEL). In a statement, the Federation of Industries of Santa Catarina (FIESC) lamented the businessman’s death.

“Álvaro Schwegler was an example of work and perseverance, actively contributing to the Schwegler Group generating jobs, development and conquering international markets, with a presence in 12 countries”, wrote the president of FIESC, Mario Cezar de Aguiar, in the note published on social media.

The businessman also served as one of the directors of Esquadrias Schwegler, which has been founded for over 80 years. The industry is dedicated to the production of smooth doors and internal cushions, in addition to other investments in Porto União and União da Vitória (PR).

Also in a statement, the city council of União da Vitória lamented the businessman’s death and was moved by the pain of his family and friends.

“The Municipality of União da Vitória expresses its deepest regret for the death of Álvaro Schwegler that occurred this Monday, 1st. Álvaro, was a businessman in Vale do Iguaçu, known for his work at Esquadrias Schwegler, recently inaugurated together with his brother Maurício the São Cristóvão Shopping Center. During the flood of the Iguaçu River in 2023, he spared no effort to collaborate with the population of our municipality.”
