An accident between an ambulance and a truck caused the death of three people and left two seriously injured on a highway in Itapetininga (SP), this Tuesday morning (2).
Accident between ambulance and truck causes deaths on Itapetininga highway
According to the Military Highway Police, the collision occurred at kilometer 159 of the Professor Francisco da Silva Pontes Highway (SP-127), when the ambulance driver was unable to brake in time and hit the back of the truck.
With the impact, three people who were in the ambulance died and two were rescued and taken to the emergency room in Itapetininga in serious condition. The truck driver was not injured. The road was partially closed.
According to the police, the ambulance left Itapeva (SP) headed for Sorocaba (SP) to take the patients, together with their companions, to routine appointments.
The victims who died are a man, aged 39, and two women, aged 57 and 42. The victims were taken to the emergency room. They are the ambulance driver, aged 53, and another passenger, aged 58.
