Dand according to the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters, a vehicle crashed on Rua da Ribeira de João Gomes, around 3:00 pm, and entered the area of the Campo da Barca gas station, in the center of Funchal, colliding with another that was stopped to refuel.
The collision was violent and also caused damage to the equipment at the gas station, which is now temporarily closed.
The drivers of the two vehicles, both in their 60s, were transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, also in Funchal, with minor injuries.
The two Funchal fire brigades were at the scene of the accident, with the Madeiran Volunteers attending with three vehicles and nine members and the Sapadores Firefighters with five vehicles and 15 operational personnel.
